Karthi’s 29th Film Titled ‘Marshal,’ Kalyani Priyadarshan Joins as Lead

Chennai, India – July 10, 2025: Tamil cinema star Karthi’s much-awaited 29th film has officially been titled Marshal, with production kicking off on July 10, 2025, following a traditional pooja ceremony. Directed by Tamizh, known for his critically acclaimed film Taanakkaran, the movie promises a thrilling blend of action, drama, and emotion set against a coastal backdrop in Rameshwaram during the 1960s and 70s.

Kalyani Priyadarshan, a rising star in South Indian cinema, has been cast as the female lead, marking her first on-screen collaboration with Karthi. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast, including veteran actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, Easwari Rao, and Murali Sharma. Reports suggest Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly will play a pivotal role, with speculation of a cameo by Telugu star Nani, though this remains unconfirmed.Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, Marshal is described as a high-budget period drama with a retro coastal vibe.
